We’re proud to have a lot of bright minds around here. Great ideas can come from anywhere and with our Block Inventors Program, associates can submit their ideas and work with our legal team to secure a patent. Meet just some of our inventors – bravo, brainiacs! http://glassdoor.com/slink.htm?key=vQMs3
In 1955, two brothers set out to provide the public with the highest quality tax services. Today, we continue to serve our clients, our community, and our brand with the same passion our founders held.
The H&R Block mission is simple. We look at your life through tax, and we find ways to help. We’ve been true to that mission since the beginning when brothers Henry and Richard Bloch founded the company.
The brand synonymous with taxes for decades continues to lead the industry with innovative thinking and advanced technology. Millions of clients also use our digital solutions to prepare their tax returns. And now every H&R Block Tax Professional has the added power of data to help get clients their maximum refund. By combining the knowledge of our highly trained professionals with cognitive computing technology, we’re offering clients our most personalized tax experience ever. This is the future H&R Block is building. It’s one our founders would be proud of – and one that is true to our mission of looking at life through taxes, and finding ways to help.
A little more about us:
H&R Block supports a variety of charities and other programs that directly benefit local communities. This includes:
At H&R Block, the personal and professional are in harmony.
At H&R Block, we believe in our people, and with that belief is our commitment to your total well-being — physical, financial, career, team and community. Together, when we balance all of these components, we are achieving personal strength, team strength and organizational strength. Our comprehensive benefit offerings provide you access to benefits that will help you plan for the health and security of your family.
H&R Block will extend the opportunity to enroll in a company sponsored medical plan to those seasonal associates who satisfy the eligibility guidelines of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). H&R Block's medical benefit satisfies the affordability and coverage requirements outlined in the ACA.
Upon meeting the eligibility requirements, seasonal associates may participate in the H&R Retirement Savings Plan 401(k). In addition, seasonal associates may qualify to participate in the Employee Stock Purchase Plan if they meet the eligibility requirements for that plan.
Seasonal associates are also eligible for H&R Block's discount program, Buy and Save. This is an online program offering meaningful discounts on many products and services that associates use every day.
I have been working at H&R Block full-time
I have found the company to be awesome and provide a ton of opportunity. We care deeply for clients and our new CEO will navigate us to the future well.
We need to make sure that innovation remains a focus area. The industry is changing and we continue to be ahead, but have to keep our foot on the gas!
Advice to Management
Work closely with your teams to make sure you receive actionable feedback and make changes to process as needed.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at H&R Block (San Diego, CA) in December 2018.
Applied online and got a callback from the recruiter the same day. We did a preliminary phone interview, and then another callback the same day to schedule an in-person interview. A few days later I did the in-person interview, where two senior team leads conducted it. They described the position clearly, were upfront about the work and pay, and asked questions about experiences I had working with others and tech in general.
