      Associate Infrastructure Engineer Interview

      Application

I interviewed at H&R Block (Olathe, KS)

      Interview

Received a call from the recruiter on a Tuesday around 6pm, not your typical time to get the call but didn’t think much of it. Wanted to ask about the role a bit more to get some more clarification on day-to-day responsibilities but the gentleman seemed fairly rushed seeing as it was late and stated that I could ask any questions in the upcoming interview with the manager. Friday comes along, the interviewing manager is nice! However this is a strict tier 1 help desk role. Manager explicitly stated there is NO engineer work whatsoever and maybe down the line you can do some projects with new hires? Not sure what that even meant. My suggestion: do not place engineer in the title if there is no engineering work at all. Very misleading, and led to a big waste of both of our time. Completely underhanded.

      Question 1

There were no questions. My first question was about the role responsibilities, which is when I learned this was help desk and promptly stated I wasn’t interested.
