Interview
HOK really takes the interview process seriously. And at all levels. Expect a minimum of three interviews for any position with increasingly higher ranked leaders. For VP and above, expect three to six interviews that span multiple meals, social event invitations, in-office meetings and possibly paid travel to multiple sites. HOK's leadership is distributed so to meet multiple leaders may require some day trips.

Tell us what an ideal first year would look like to you and share with us how you would invest $1,000,000 in people, products, infrastructure, hardware, etc. Great questions like that! HOK is going through a generational shift and they know it, so they are looking for next gen talent/leaders who know where they are going, have a strong point of view, and work well with others. The interview questions suss this kind of stuff out.

Interview
Two interviews, one with heads of HR and practice, second with various directors. Initial meeting was more convivial, discussing experince and knowledge but at a more superficial level. This may have been down to the skill of the interviewer as it seemed like a friendly chat but still involved showing knowledge of company, the likely obstacles to overcome and the methods likely to be utilised. The second interview was a more lengthy , 90 minute grilling, with half of the senior team (of 6 directors) involved. This was looking much more at examples of ways of working, the problems overcome and the solutions found to return a positive outcome.
