      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Horizon Air (SeaTac, WA) in Feb 2016

      Interview

Submitted an application and was contact a week later to submit an online video interview within 3 business days. The video interview was unlike anything I've done before. You were able to do it in your own time which was nice. It consisted of logging in to a website that they gave you, a question would appear on your screen and it would start a count down of 30 seconds while you prepared what you might say. At the end of the 30 seconds, you immediately had 2 minutes to give a response without the option of being able to go back and re-record. There were a series of 9 consecutive questions for the video interview part of it. After that was submitted it took until the next business day for them to call me back with details to attend a group interview. At the group interview they'll go through an orientation with the group that consists of company values, job responsibilities, pay, and benefits (travel, health, 401k, etc.). They they ask everyone who is no longer interested to please leave. And they begin calling names one at a time for individual interviews. If you pass the first interview they have you stay around for a second interview with the department manager. So although it is labeled a group interview, at no point were we interviewing with someone else, which was a stress reliever. Out of the 25 people that attended only 6 were offered a position that day. Keep in mind, they are keeping an eye out for people who come in and are friendly with other people and begin conversations. So don't be nervous, enjoy yourself, and get to know the other people that are there.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How would you handle a unreasonable request from an unruly customer? For example if a customer is demanding a new flight due to a delay from weather (snow, ice, wind, etc) when you can't do anything to change the weather.

      Interview

Go by phone interview first and then next is manager interview, simple question regarding customer service questions. They are friendly. Better prepare an impressive self introduction and share some customer service experiences.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Horizon Air (Portland, OR) in Dec 2018

      Interview

Did a brief video interview after applying. Spoke briefly with a recruiter two weeks after applying and invited to a group interview followed by a 1:1. Said it would take 2-3 hours and it was over 4 hours when I was dismissed after two rounds of interviewing. You are not given any reason for not being chosen, just a "sorry we aren't interested at this time, you can re-apply in six months." They had 28 people for 6-7 positions, 4 of which currently work for or have worked for Horizon in the past. Several others had other customer service experience in the travel industry. Felt like a waste of time after two brief interviews. They should do a better job on setting up expectations, particularly with a large group. We were asked to be there at 1pm, the session to begin at 1:30 but it didn't start until 2pm. I'm never satisfied when the interview ends with just a "sorry." After the effort I put into preparing for the interview, I believe I should be given some feedback.
