The entire process lasts upto 1.5 months. First there is an online puzzle to solve, followed by which IBM will contact you for a phone screen. After the phone screen IBM will schedule you for interviews. There are 2 rounds, the first one is a technical one, the second one is a behavioural. Mine happpened both on webex. You will get the result approximately after one-two days. Interviews are not hard. Focus on object-oriented programming concepts and DBMS.
I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at IBM (Baton Rouge, LA) in Jan 2016
Interview
Applied online and received a call the next day. HR lady was very understandable talked about the company and pay, and where I want to be in the future. Didn't ask anything about resume at all. At the end of the interview she said to review basic OOP concepts like polymorphism and such. After a month I received no call back. There is no e-mail or phone to contact for your application status.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about yourself? What was your GPA? How did you hear about us?
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at IBM (New York, NY) in Jan 2016
Interview
Started out with a phone screening. Then invited to take the IPAT (aptitude test). IPAT included a two part test, number sequencing and algebraic word problems. After IPAT, invited for a Final interview. Lengthy process, from application to final interview took three months. Interview had two parts; behavioral and technical. Behavioral interview was very conversation like. Asked questions regarding my reactions to group work situations and deadlines. Behavioral interview seemed to be the interviewer seeing where you fit in the company. Technical interview was much more challenging. A lot of concept questions ( i. e. Polymorphism, encapsulation, coding) My interviewer was in the Java department so he had a lot of questions regarding Java and J2EE. Interviewer states in the beginning of interview that it's okay if you want to pass on some of the questions, they don't expect you to know all of it. Was over all a comfortable and informational interview. Just relax and be yourself. Remember there is a reason why you made it to the final stage of the hiring process!
