I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at InConsulting in Oct 2021
The interview process was pretty straight forward. I had an interview for a data tech intern with Microsoft and the team leads just wanted to know that I had some basic understanding of servers and data centers but more importantly, that I was willing to learn more.
- What are two items you need for a network? Why do you want to work with Microsoft and not one of our competitors (Apple, Google, etc.)?

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at InConsulting (Redmond, WA) in Jan 2020
<Before the Interview> I was invited to two 45 minute back-to-back interviews with Microsoft software engineers from two different teams at Microsoft in Redmond, WA about a week after I submitted application. <First Interview> The interviewer introduced himself and told me about his team, and asked me about myself, past school and work experience. Then, he asked me some behavioral questions, one system design question, and some questions about data structures, and a whiteboard question at the end. Interviewer was friendly and kindly rephrased his questions whenever I asked him to repeat to understand them better. <Second Interview> Similar to the first interview, the interviewer introduced himself and told me about his team, and asked me about myself, past school and work experience. Then, he asked me how I started learning coding and which stack I was interested in (ex. front-end, back-end, and full-stack), and one whiteboard question that was tricky at first. But the interviewer walked me through the problem, it was fun and I really enjoyed solving problem with the interviewer. At the end I was about to solve the problem. <Any Thoughts> Overall, I had a very positive interview experience with both interviewers. They weren't there to scare me. They were there to help me and learn more about me. Thank you both!
- <Behavioral Questions> Q: When was the time that you had to work with a person that you did not like?
- <Behavioral Questions> Q: How did you learn coding?
- <Behavioral Questions> Q: When was the time you disagreed with someone?
- <System Design Question> Q: How would you build bus routes for the city? Then he kept tagging more questions.
- <Data Structure Question> Q: How would you describe stack and queue to a kid?
- <Whiteboard Questions> Q: Implement a stack or a queue (It can be done using an array or a linked list).
- <Whiteboard Questions> Q: Find where two linked lists intersect.

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at InConsulting (Redmond, WA) in Mar 2019
I submitted the application to the LEAP apprenticeship. It was easy to submit the application just had to format the resume in Markdown.I heard back from the team to schedule an in person Interview and Aparna helped me with the scheduling. On the day of the interview I had two rounds one technical and one behavioral. During my technical round I was asked about my previous work experience on data analysis and one system design question where I was asked to design an application while keeping in mind certain requirements .My behavioral round was completely based on leadership skills ,conversation building and how well I can market a product. Overall the interview experience was pleasant. Both the interviewers were very knowledgeable friendly and interactive.

Explain a situation where you had to take up a leadership position all of a sudden and how did you show leadership qualities? How did you promote team work? I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at InConsulting (Redmond, WA) in Jun 2018
Applied on the website by filling application, completing two essays and submitting my resume through GitHub gist. The application period took a month after which I was invited for the interview in Redmond. Two interviews by Microsoft employees who obviously had their day jobs to carry out and seemed sometimes tired during the interview.

- Write a function to determine if you can successfully take a picture of two football teams lined in front of each other. You can rearrange the players but you can not mix players from different teams on the same line. i.e one team must be in front of the other team. The function should just return true or false.
- The second question was a system design question. Basically, how would you design a payroll system, then how to generate individual keys for a system, and he kept tagging more questions to the original system design question.

I applied online by submitting a couple of essays and was asked to come in for two interviews. Interviews were conducted by Microsoft Employees - first interviewer asked me to construct a method using data structures, and the second interviewer had me do a string manipulation question (determine if a string was an anagram) and discuss the Big O notation of various solutions. Many of the other applicants came from various dev bootcamps around the area, so that seems to be good preparation for the interview. Though from what I understand it is highly competitive - only about 10% of the applicants actually get into the program.

After submitting 2 essays, I was chosen to interview for the current cohort of Microsoft LEAP. Two 45 minute interviews. Each one used about half the time for soft-skills/behavioral questions (tell me about yourself, tell me about a time you worked with a group, what role did you take, what difficulties did you encounter) and half the time for a whiteboarding question.
