I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (Austin, TX) in Mar 2021
Interview
Indeed seems to have a very structured process when it comes to interviewing.
First, there is a take-home assignment that can take up to a day or two of casually working on it (depending on how meticulous you want to be). I'd recommend putting in the time if you want to pass this stage.
Then there is an interview with an engineer who will ask you relatively easy questions for the 4 areas: coding, math/stats, probability, ML.
Finally, there is the onsite consisting of ~5 interviews (the last one is a 30 min chat in the end to share your experience). Each interview usually has 2 engineers: one senior and one junior. There is one interview for each of ML/DL (~50 min), math/stats/prob (~50 min), whiteboard coding/programming (~50 min), DS exercise (~80 min) where you code on your own in silence, and the last one is a ~30 min chat to share your experience and ask questions. There was an hour break after the first two. The engineers were friendly and helpful, but some of the junior engineers could be more receptive to different ways of thinking about solving a problem, express more curiosity and dynamically adjust their follow-ups based on the candidate answer. Thankfully the more senior engineers were helpful for this.
The recruiter was very responsive and helpful in the process.
One suggestion is to reconsider the structure of the onsite. Staying present and focused for such a long time can be really exhausting for the candidate. Happy it was worth it though.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Some basic coding (leetcode easy), bayes rule questions, math/stats questions, some longer ML questions relevant to Indeed, "whiteboard" questions where you discuss your thought process, reasonable data science exercise relevant to the job
I was put through 7 interviews over the course of 4 months. I didn't even meet anyone on my team until the final interview. The communication with HR was terrible. I had a surprise live coding assessment.
Interview process was very organized, had a take home challenge that I finished and shared and had a zoom interview with 2 of their engineers. had 2 easy/medium python questions and some statistics questions
I applied online. I interviewed at Indeed (Bengaluru) in Aug 2024
Interview
Got an email from HR saying my resume was shortlisted, followed by a 1 on 1 screening round. Did not find my experiencerince relavant. No other feedback was given.
Discussion about my projects and past experiences.
