      Account Manager Interview

      Oct 21, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Minneapolis, MN
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Indigo (Minneapolis, MN) in Oct 2019

      Interview

The interview process consisted of some great people in a very disorganized order. First interview was a standard interview with a recruiter. We went over the company and the role as well as review of my resume and background. At the end of the interview it was stated that I had earned a spot at the next step which was another phone interview with the hiring manager. After not hearing from the company for quite some time I contacted HR who then got right on it and had the next interview scheduled by the end of the day. This next interview was a very nice Man and once again addressed the role as well as my resume and background. At the end of the interview I was told that everything had gone well and that he would like to bump me through to an in person panel interview next if i was still interested. I was and agreed he would put the message through to HR. Once again after not hearing anything from the company for quite some time I contacted HR to see what the issue was. Turned out the guy who interviewed me had resigned the day that he interviewed myself and had left some paperwork not filed. After finding this out I was then scheduled for another phone interview with the new hiring manager for this position. This interview was the same as before, a very nice person who went over the role/company and then went into detail about my resume and background. After this interview it was once again stated that it had gone well and that he was wanting to schedule an in person panel interview. This once again went on for sometime without hearing from the company, after contacting them I was quickly scheduled for a flight an hotel for an interview the next week. I then was flown to Minneapolis for an in person panel interview that consisted of 6 people for 5 different interviews. The questions were fairly typical and all people were very polite, professional and pleasant to meet. The interviews all went great to my knowledge and was then told I would have an answer within a week. Once again the deadline rolled around and still had not heard from Indigo. After an email to the HR department I was then contacted by a person from HR that I had never spoken to prior and told that I did not get the position due to lack of sales experience. I have 6 years (not the most but definitely more than some) This was extremely frustrating, not that I didn't get an offer, but for the reason this was a factor that had previously been discussed in detail with 3 different people, 2 of which were hiring managers, prior to flying to Minneapolis and could have prevented having to take two days out to go to an interview I never had a chance at.

      Question 1

Typical questions, first interview had 10 different clients that i had to organize in the order i would service them and why, a couple interviews that just consisted of more description of the role and my background, a WHO interview and an interview with HR over possible benefits, compensation and training. The most difficult question asked was the standard, "What is one of your weakness's?" I have plenty, but it's hard to pick out one that is relevant to an interviewer.

Hi there and thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear there was a lack of communication on next steps in the recruiting process. We do have a very robust process that requires input from many stakeholders when making decisions. I apologize that you didn’t hear back after your interview. Our intent is to follow up either way after interviews – please accept our apologies.

      Interview

Interview was laid back, met several people with the company. Some you could tell wanted to be there, some did not. Being an Ag company, there were several within the interview process that were employees of Indigo that had no knowledge of anything Agricultural
