Started off the process with some ridiculous questionaire thing that takes almost 2 hours. From there I was invited to the first interview.
Started with a 2 on1 interview, asked minor technical questions and standard HR type questions. Pretty informal, just a couple guys talking, which was a good thing. Felt comfortable, it was a nice conversation. Then asked to do a second interview.
During the second round it seemed to go great! More or less of the same questions and explaining. A couple new faces in the interview. Said they would get back with me after a short time. Never heard anything , so I reached out.
They said they sent an email earlier in the week saying they wanted to ask a few more quick questions, but I never got the email. So we quickly put together another interview that day (third one), I went ahead and did the quick interview. Very quick / informal, talked about fantasy football and other stuff more than anything. No new information or anything. Seemed pointless honestly.
At the end of the interview, the guy said the final step is for me to do powerpoint presentation infront of a group of them (managers, CEO, and they were also going to invite a guy I knew that worked there to watch as well), the powerpoint was to be about myself. It could be funny, serious, whatever you wanted it to be. He said he was going to talk to he co-workers and send me a time for me to do the presentation.
The third interview took place on Friday, and now it is Wednesday. I still haven't heard about the time of my presentation so I reached out and asked when it would be, or maybe if I didn't get an email again. He quickly got back to me saying they went another direction and sent an offer elsewhere.
So how do I go from doing 3 interviews / invited to do a powerpoint presentation to not getting the job at all and not doing a presentation? It wouldn't be so annoying if they didn't say I was going to be doing a presentation then do a complete 180.
