I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (London, England) in Oct 2019
Interview
Pymetrics tests — (1 day later) hirevue video interview (with coding challenge) — (1 month later) assessment center
AC:
group interview (group of 4 solving a puzzle without looking at the picture side)
Technical interview (asking about your knowledge/level/interest in coding, with 3 brain teaser questions). The goal is to test your problem solving skills, understand your interest and current level in coding. The interviewer was very nice, concentrated and responsive. He started off with introducing himself and the company first, then introduced the training contents I may receive in the end of the interview.
Competency based interview: general competency questions with a few unexpected questions. This part did not went as smoothly as the technical part. I feel the questions were a bit surprising and the interviewer was not internally interested in any of the questions. It seemed that he wanted to go through the questions ASAP. It was okay overall, tho in retrospect I feel I could do better.
The result comes out in a week.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan (London, England) in Nov 2024
Interview
It was quite straightforward. You get a hackerrank followed by hirevue. They asked you to solve a coding problem using any preferred coding language (python etc). For the hirevue, they asked about why u want to be a software engineer, motivations, and what steps are u taking to be better at coding
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What are your motivations and why you want to become a software engineer
Recorded interview where you can repeat your answer twice if you're not confident enough to submit and they will give a practice interview prior to the real one. It was nice and easy process overall.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
How did your background fit into the job description
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at J.P. Morgan in Feb 2021
Interview
The day after submitting application: Pymetrics (no need to prepare at all; you play different games to get your cognitive traits assessed)
1 week after Pymetrics: HireVue (2 behavioral questions, 1 coding question) - take advantage of the practice questions
Didn't make it to the final interview
