      People Director Interview

      Nov 3, 2015
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kantar (New York, NY) in Aug 2015

      Interview

The first round was with two Recruiters in a room and then the Chief of Staff in another room. The second round was supposed to be with two Partners, but only one ended up being available. The process moved quickly. The position was new and the description was vague, which made me think they were looking for someone to come in with a vision, and my vision was challenged. Prepare to fill in answers to some fairly vague questions to which they believe specific answers exist (Q: What does a leader have? A: Followers). The company has gone through several names, MB Optimor incorporated Kantar MPP and most recently the Dutch company EffectiveBrands to become MB Vermeer. They view themselves as the underdog that has to work harder and faster for their clients. Learned throughout the interview process there are 6 partners in the NY office and approximately 100 employees; the 6th most tenured employee in NY has been there four years; lines are blurred between life and work, colleague and friend.

      Question 1

If I overheard people talking about you in a coffeeshop, what three positive one-word qualities would I hear? How about three one-word negative qualities?
