      Property Adjuster II Interview

      Nov 14, 2018
      Anonymous employee
      Aurora, IL
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kemper (Aurora, IL)

      Interview

I was reached out to by a recruiter. I was not interested at first but the recruiter insisted on speaking with me just to have a conversation. Conversation I had with the recruiter had me interested in the position. She asked what I like about my previous company and ensured that that will be the same here and I would be rewarded with a generous salary. Process consisted of 2 screenings: 1 with recruiter and another with HR rep. Basic questions with the screenings: job history, salary expectations, overview of role, and why you are a good fit. 30 minutes each. Interview with supervisor followed. Not really an interview but a conversation. Talked about claims handling processes, perils I've handled, how you handle difficult clients, etc. The conversation was very organic and you can tell they have genuine interest in your skillset. Salary expectation was also discussed. 1 hour. After a week I was asked to interview with the manager and the supervisor in a panel-like interview. Since superiors were out of state, a skype interview took place. Again, very organic conversation. I was asked how I feel about handling claims remotely with out of state losses, expected CAT duty, ethics, where my mind is when adjusting, my process from beginning to end of claims handling and why I wanted to move carriers. You will discuss an estimate in its entirety and you will be asked to form a settlement letter (verbally of course) I had so much fun on this last interview and with most interviews, you know if you nailed it. This interview was about 2 hours long but it didn't feel like it.
