I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants (Boston, MA) in Mar 2010
Interview
Interview was simple and simple questions that hotels ask, "tell me a time that you have gone above and beyond to help a guest" "tell me a time that you went against management" The people who interviewed me were two recent college grads and were very friendly.
The only thing I wonder is if the girls are experienced enough to make a decision on who to pick to work for Kimpton and I would say did about 70% of the talking, felt more like a chat than an interview, but then again that is why Kimpton is great!

Interview
I applied at a college career fair. I had two one on one interviews and then a panel interview. The questions asked were very typical for hospitality jobs except for a few questions where I had to get a little creative. The interviews were very conversational. Go prepared with questions.

Interview
During the interview, they really just want to get to know you. They may ask one or two traditional interview-like questions to get the ball rolling, but most of the questions they ask will be about your personality to see if you would be a good fit for the team and the culture. The interview is pretty easy going unless you are over prepared for standard procedure questions, then you may be thrown off...
