I applied through college or university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Kroger (Houston, TX) in Feb 2019
Interview
This interview was basically a waste of time if you are a qualified and serious professional. After an initial casual interview at my University, I went for the group interactive interview. I was placed in a group with and given team challenges. My group consisted of loud team members with terrible ideas that argued with one another and created a chaotic environment. I was told that I would hear something back with a yes or no within a week. After 10 or so days passed I had yet to hear anything so I called to check on the status. I was informed I was marked absent from the interview and I assured her I was there. She told me I would hears something soon. After another week or so I had to again contact the interviewer and was told the position was already filled. So in short, if you interview for this position yell over everyone with ideas, even if they aren't viable. Be the loudest person in the room to make sure you are marked present. Above all just give the illusion you are in charge, even if you would make a terrible leader in an actual business.
I have since entered into a manager program with a more organized company. This process was much smoother with value placed on ideas and leadership, not yelling over others.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Kroger (Schofield, WI) in Nov 2023
Interview
It certainly wasn't like any other "professional" interview that I've experienced. Asked mediocre questions, half of which did not pertain to the job description. It seemed as if the interview was decided before they appeared on screen. I do get a sense from the interview, it’s a job that promises a lot, but delivers if you have a solid store. If you don’t…

It was quick, nice gentleman. Sadly they waist interviewers time that are applying from outside of Kroger. They say in 2weeks we will let you know. Took a month for them to reach back
It was a quick and smooth interview that went fairly well with questions that were easy. The interviewer was friendly and very nice. I had no problem just being myself.
