      Administrative Assistant Interview

      Jan 12, 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Chicago, IL
      Accepted offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

The process took 1 week. I interviewed at LaSalle Network (Chicago, IL) in Dec 2016

      Interview

I applied online and received a call for an interview the very next day. The interview itself was more or so just a overview of what was on my resume with a little expansion on my end. No "traditional" interview questions. For that reason, the interview itself was pretty easy. Unfortunately I felt like just another person walking through their revolving door, almost as if the company wasn't interested in me at all. 4 days later I was asked to complete an assessment testing my abilities with Microsoft Office and how many words I can type per minute. A few days later, I was "welcomed" to the company with an email. Almost two weeks has passed and I've not heard A THING from them.

Thanks for taking time to write a review. It sounds like our process may not have been fully explained, and I apologize for that. Our recruiters should have told you that communication with us after the interview may be sporadic. Our recruiters will reach out if they have an opportunity that aligns with your skill set, background and what you are looking for, and they ask that you keep them abreast of changes in your job search. We wish we could help everyone, and do so immediately, but unfortunately we are working on specific roles for our clients that don't align with every candidate we meet that week.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at LaSalle Network (Chicago, IL) in Jun 2025

      Interview

I applied via LinkedIn for any open Administrative Assistant position. They called me and scheduled an interview, but something felt off. As it turns out, they used the LinkedIn interview information to bait and switch the people they didn't consider for the opportunity into a general contract and contract-to-hire interview that their recruiting agency is known for. The interview itself was uncomfortable, especially with the question of how and why it was set up looming over the entire process. The interviewer didn't particularly care about my work history, cut me off on open ended questions that she likely only needed to check a box for from a script, and generally made me feel like a number for her quota instead of a person. While I can't speak to how well they can place somehow, I was entirely uncomfortable working with their agency in any capacity after the interview.

      Question 1

They asked for a general overview of my position, but really should have asked if the information on my resume was correct and moved on.

      Interview

Very Simple process. Very professional staff. Tried to find a fit as much as possible. Did not take long at all. Not difficult at all. Just had a conversation about what position and salary I am looking for.

      Interview

Prescripted basic questions. They probe into reasons for last departure of last job. I felt like a statistic for their weekly results. Their screen process is very fast pace. Since it is over the phone, it is hard to read body language. I hate the inquiry - Tell me about yourself. For those people who are very experienced in wide variety of things, it is a ineffective inquiry.
