Open Positions In Human Resources and/Or Communications Interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at LaSalle Network

      Interview

I tried to apply to a position through the LaSalle Network, but the application was misleading so I actually applied to the opening by submitting only my name and contact info. I wrote LaSalle an angry email, they replied within 47 hours, and I was eventually able to apply. A week later someone from LaSalle called me for a general interview in their Oak Brook office. On the phone we went over my resume with basic questions--how long did you work there, reason for leaving, etc. The in-person interview didn't go into much further depth. Two representatives asked standard questions about my experience, proficiencies, goals, etc. The first woman was at least polite, engaging, and enthusiastic. The second barely looked at me, asked maybe two generic questions, and was gone in 8 minutes. She did mention that there's a downtown Chicago LaSalle Network office that I could have gone to instead, which would have been far more convenient for me. I left feeling uncertain but optimistic based on their assurances they'd be in touch, my prospects looked good, etc. The offices were professional-looking. The staff was polite and helpful. Five months later I got an email telling me about an opening as a telemarketer. I'd heard nothing from them in all that time, and even that one email was written so generically that I'm not sure it's even related to my interview there. I moved it to my spam folder.
