I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Lam Research (Fremont, CA) in Dec 2011
Interview
I was interviewed by 7 managers from different etch departments. There was a morning session of 3 interviews; followed by a lunch break interview. This was then followed by a 1 hour presentation and Q/A session of my phd work. The day wrapped up with 3 more interviews. It was a full day, on site process.

Question 1
Describe your approach to solving problems and designing experiments.
Generic interview with some technical questions asked to understand the capability of the candidate. Quite an impressive interview and reasonable questions asked. Good place to begin the career. Good, excellent, best
I had one presentation in the beginning, and then my schedule was followed by 2 panels and 2 one on one interviews and then 2 panels. Overall, it was quite smooth and the panel members were very welcoming.

Question 1
What would you do if your project has already passed the deadline?
A 90-minute panel interview that combines both technical and behavioral questions, designed to thoroughly assess not only your understanding of core concepts but also your ability to apply them in real-world scenarios. The technical portion focuses on evaluating your depth of knowledge in relevant processes, problem-solving skills, and familiarity with tools, methodologies, and industry practices. You may be asked to walk through specific projects, explain decision-making processes, or troubleshoot hypothetical situations to demonstrate your hands-on experience and critical thinking.
