• I started with a phone interview with LeeShanok Network Solutions VP, Katrina LeeShanok, who was amazing! She appeared to be quite pragmatic and demonstrated has a good perspective regarding the pulse of her employees regarding how they feel about working for her company.
- For me, as a 20+ year IT professional, experienced with working for mega to mid to small companies, I know the phone interview and IT behavioural interview processes well.
• After the phone interview, I was invited to go to the next stage in the hiring process, where I was invited to come to their Phoenix office for a lab assessment, about 5 days later.
• On-site, I met with Eric, one of LeeShanok's seasoned IT consultants (really cool highly intelligent IT Pro fellow), who set me up with completing a lab which included elements of Windows Server 2012 R2, Server Mgr., Active Directory Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 ECP with Outlook. It was a challenging, albeit fun lab, and gave me a decent view into some of the work I would be performing, if hired.
• Following the lab, I was, fortunately, invited back the next day to meet with the VP, Katrina LeeShanok, once again and found she was as impressive in person as she was on the phone. Really enjoyed learning more about the company and her views regarding her expectations for the job I was hiring for.
(Please note: I do not say this as if everyone who interviews with LeeShanok will have the same experience; I can only share from my own experience.)
• After a thorough Q & A meeting with the VP, I was advised they would contact all candidates to reveal their decision, within 2-3 business days.
• True to their word, I was contacted 3 business days later, with an offer for the role as Desktop Technician, with the condition I would complete my Network+ or CCNA certification or provide proof of having taken the exam within 90 days of hire. (Not a problem, as I am a professional CompTIA-IT Tutor as a side gig).
- The original position I applied for was Certified Network Engineer, but soon realized not having my Network+ or CCNA at the point of applying is what prevented me from hiring for that position; which did not bother me, as I know I just finally need to work and take the exam, knowing they have provided me plenty of room to work toward that position when the opportunity presents itself again.
- A very smooth, fluid hiring process, complete with great professionalism and fantastic decorum shown to me by the VP and one of her seasoned consultants, this interview process was handled well and in a way, I have not experienced in a long time, with other hiring companies.
- So this says a lot about the calibre of LeeShanok as a company. After being with the amazing company like Apple Inc. for well over a decade before -- I know what I am talking about.
I am looking forward to working with the LeeShanok Network Solutions group!
