      Front End Engineer Interview

      Aug 22, 2016
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Bellevue, WA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Limeade (Bellevue, WA) in Aug 2016

      Interview

Found the job through LinkedIn and applied on their site. Got a call from HR recruiter, chatted a bit, and he sold the company to me pretty well. Asked me for compensation preference, which already at this point is a red flag (means they're looking on the cheap side). However, I said I was interested, and he scheduled a call with one of the senior software developers. This was about a 1 hour call. Asked all sorts of technical questions, mostly easy stuff that every Front End Dev should know. I was invited on-site for an interview. Pretty much destroyed the interview, but didn't get the offer, probably because they found someone cheaper. Recommend asking specifically what their salary ranges are, so that you don't waste 5 hours.

I'm sorry to hear that you felt we were looking for someone on the cheap side. If that's how you felt at the end of the interview process then please accept my apologies. I ask the salary question early on to make sure a candidate's compensation preference aligns with our budget. It's designed to make sure you (or our interview team) doesn't in fact waste 5 hours of time by completing the interview only to find out our budget doesn't align with your salary targets. If you were invited onsite it means that your salary target was in fact aligned with our budget. We appreciated the time you spent with us and I hope you found a great company to work for. I wish you the best of luck in your career. - Zach Johnson, Sr. Recruiter
