I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at MD Anderson Cancer Center (Smithville, TX) in Jan 2015
Interview
The interview was done by the Professor which I ended up working for. He was not prepared with specific questions. He was a nice guy and pulled my interest to the lab. He showed me the lab and introduced me to the lab manager and the post-doc. They were very nice and didn't really interview me, they mostly chatted about the research I'd be doing.

Interview
The interview process was easy. The PI wanted to know why I wanted to join the team. What interested me about his research. The PI wanted to hire someone that was passionate about learning.
Typical process asking background and experience questions. They really wanted to know about my technical skills and were less concerned with research design methodology. It was a pleasant process with a quick response following the interview.
