I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MITRE in Nov 2009
Interview
It was a phone interview. They asked very easy questions about basic data structures (linked lists, hash tables, etc). The final question was about how to design a system to manage an elevator.
Firstly, this is just for the screening. Super straightforward; company asks about prior experience, you talk about it. Assuming you've actually done what you did in your resume, the conversation leads to a second round of interviews.
No offer yet as this is too early in the process.

I applied through other source. I interviewed at MITRE (Bedford, MA)
Interview
the interview was very straightforward. We discussed my background and the work that stimulated the interview, and most importantly it was very much a two way discussion. Interviewers solicited and answered my questions fully.
