I applied through my school's career website after attending one or two info sessions. I then got a response from the career site to sign up for a time slot for an in person interview. The first interview consisted of a 1:1 interview and case study/assessment. The 1:1 interview was with an HR rep who just asked me behavioral questions and about my past work experiences. The assessment was a case study having to do with Macy's Department Store Sales, you were given about 20 or 30 minutes to complete then present your recommendation/findings to a Macy's Executive. I then received an email a week or so later saying that I passed the first round and got invited for an onsite 2 day interview. This was held in San Francisco at the Macy's Flagship store at Union Square. They flew out and paid for the transportation and hotel for about 20 - 30 different college students from 5 or 6 universities. One the first day we were given a tour of the SF Macy's Flagship store, given a presentation about their Executive Development Program, and were told what to expect for the next day. They then took us out to dinner and had a little mixer with the other candidates and some executives (all on macy's). The next day we got up early for an all day interview, we were broken up into 4 different groups and went through our rounds of interviews with our group members. They consisted of two 1:1 interview, business acumen and presentation. Overall experience was very positive, everyone was friendly, kind, professional and Macy's were very attentive to their candidates.
