      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Manchester, CT)

      Interview

I filled out an application online and received an email about 2-3 days later stating that I've been considered for employment and asked to schedule an interview online. When you click the link provided in the email, you're redirected to a site where you're asked to sign in and click a date and time that's most convenient for you to schedule an interview. It's a good idea to try to schedule the earliest possible time as I've often read that one would go through the interview process only to be told that the particular position have already been filled or that they're no longer looking for potential employees, so this is exactly what I did. Whether or not this has to do with unfortunate timing or their passive-aggressive way of saying "Uh, yeah... we'd rather not hire you"... I have no idea. I showed up about 15 minutes early but didn't "check in" yet in case they found my earliness too pushy or something, so I just wandered around the store for a bit before letting the secretary know I was in for an interview. I had to wait about 20 minutes before the lady came out (she was in a meeting) and we quickly introduced ourselves before she whisked me away to a back room. This particular job is probably one of the lowest on the Macy's job totem, so I didn't expect the process to be all that difficult. She asked me what I thought the job consisted of (what I thought I'd be expected to do), my previous work and school experience, talked about my availability (weekends are apparently a must as they're the busiest), discussed potential hours (she said it was an on-call job and I'd usually come in at 6am some mornings. Also, hours are very little and you aren't guaranteed about more than 4 a week, again, depending on how busy the store is.) and asked me a few basic situational and behavioral questions. All of this took about 10 minutes. Then she asked me if it'd be a job I was interested in and after saying yes, gave me two sheets with some info to fill out and directed me to a computer where I logged into my Macy's account (the one I applied under) and authorized them to perform a background check on me. She said once the background check has been completed and I've passed, I'd get a call from them and I can begin training.

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Lake Grove, NY) in May 2015

      Interview

I applied online, and received email two days later saying i was invited to schedule an interview. I scheduled the interview for two after i received the invite email. I showed up to my interview about 20 mins early, went to the office and waited about 10mins for the interviewer to come. Interviewer was seemingly friendly, asked me to tell him about myself then asked about my availability, upon telling him i would have a seasonal commitment and would have to leave toward the end of August to go back to school , he pretty much just shut down which was very awkward, pretty abruptly told me they were only looking for people with a longer term commitment, then stood up and said thanks for coming (this all occurred literally in the span of about 4-5 mins)

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Macy's (Orland Park, IL) in Mar 2015

      Interview

You apply online and then in few days sometimes weeks they will get back to you via Email on if they want to interview and claimed they'll get back to you in 2 week prior to the interview on a decision. A lot of their hiring process seems to be through Email. The Human Resource People were very nice and respectful to talk to. If I had one complaint there should not be more than 3 questions in 1 interview section because it'll definitely throw you off. But overall it wasn't a bad experience.
