I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Macy's (Brooklyn, NY) in Oct 2012
Interview
Was contacted by phone for an interview for the Associate Support Representative job (they refer to it as ASR). Came twenty minutes early--which is always important--to their Executive office and was greeted by a very nice gentleman. Was asked to sign in and take a seat. Didn't have to wait long; a very nice lady came in about ten minutes and introduced herself. Asked me to follow her to her office and offered me a seat. She spoke briefly about the position and looked over my resume. She asked me questions about my past jobs. After giving her details, she told me I would be talking to the Manager. The manager came and we went to her office. This is where the interview became more in depth. She asked me questions like: 1) Why I wanted to work with Macy's 2) How would I handle it if it was busy with customers and staff asking about their paychecks 3) How would I support if a team member had an attitude. She also described the current work environment, which had been through cut backs, so that they were very busy. The whole interview process lasted about one hour. They assured me they'd call me either way. They called me on a Saturday with an offer. Be prepared for them to call on the weekend, as it goes in retail.

Question 1
I prepared so well, including the help of Glassdoor, that I can't say anything was difficult or unexpected. Just prepare with all types of questions.
