I interviewed with Macy's last year for a Senior UX Designer role. I went through 3 rounds (not including conversations with the recruiter) before being rejected for the position.
1st round - 30 minute interview with Head of UX
2nd round - 1 hour portfolio review with UX leadership
3rd round - Two 45 minute interviews with 2 Directors of Product Management.
In the 3rd round, both interviewers specifically said that they were unprepared for the interview and appeared to be improvising the questions they were asking me. One of the PM Directors wound up asking me marketing questions, which of course I was unprepared for since I was interviewing for a UX role. Needless to say that I didn't move forward after that round. The recruiter ghosted me.
I got the sense that there would have been at least two additional rounds if I had moved forward in the process.
