After receiving confirmation that my initial application was selected for a first round phone screening, I received an email from an HR Co-ordinator. The call was set up with their Talent Acquisition Consultant. Most questions were standard, but some seemed a bit strange & the Talent Acquisition Consultant was a bit aggressive. This is the first actual person one is speaking with as a representation of the company & she was almost militant in her tone. It wasn't a deal breaker, but it did leave an (odd/uncomfortable) impression. I was told that either way (accepted to proceed in the recruitment process or not), I'd hear from them. I never did!
So that now has left me with a negative impression of how they treat candidates. It's shameful that a company of this size would not have the courtesy to close the process with a thoughtful email if the candidate would not be proceeding further.
Furthermore, because of this, no matter how great an opportunity may be, they have forgotten that an interview (even a phone screen) is the first impression that a candidate gets of "working at" (& with people of) this company. It is a two-way street & they too, are being assessed by an applicant. Without the professional courtesy being shown in closing this process & getting back to me, I wouldn't recommend or refer this organization. That's been my lasting impression!
