Poor Interview Experience – Software Engineering Manager (Dublin)
The interview experience with Mastercard was very poor. The interview was cut short within 10–15 minutes once the interviewer stated they were specifically looking for a Spring Boot/Java professional. If this was a strict requirement, it should have been clearly screened before scheduling the interview. Inviting a candidate and then ending the discussion so abruptly was a waste of time for both parties.
The interviewer, a Director based in India, did not turn on their video during the Microsoft Teams interview, which felt unprofessional and disrespectful, especially for a senior engineering management role. Overall, the process lacked preparation, transparency, and basic interview etiquette.
This experience did not reflect the standards one would expect from a global company like Mastercard.
