Interview
The Beth Israel Comprehensive Cancer Center placed an ad on my school's website seeking a volunteer. I sent in my resume and cover letter and got contacted within a few days. Met with the supervisor and he was very friendly, professional, and laid-back. The whole process of starting took about 2 to 3 weeks, since BI requires a physical, a flu shot, and immunization records before you can begin. The volunteer coordinator was also very friendly and helpful.

There were no difficult questions during the phone interview. BICCC just wanted to make sure I was very interested in committing to three months and that I was interested in volunteering there.

Interview
I filled out a form online to volunteer. A few weeks later the volunteer coordinator reached out to me for an interview. The interview was simple and lasted only about 15 minutes.
Long but worth it. Orientation taught everything I needed to know, and training was provided. Overall it was a great volunteer experience! Enjoyed working with the patients and transporting them to different floors

Interview
I emailed the Director of Volunteering Services. It took about a week get a response. When I arrived for my interview, I was instructed to fill out forms. The questions it asked was why I wanted to volunteer, previous volunteering experiences, and my experience under supervision. I met with the Director of volunteer services. She was very nice and welcoming. She asked me a few questions about my background and if I was able to commit the minimum time commitment of 6 months. That seemed to be her main concern because some volunteers left when they found a job. It will take a week to find out if I am selected.
