The interview process was very smooth and warm! The talent acquisition specialist who interviewed me was so kind and friendly and she slide her interview questions in so smoothly that it felt more like an easy going conversation about values and experiences. The patient care director who interviewed me was also kind and warm and made me feel very comfortable through out the whole process, offered me tons of information about the unit he felt I might what to know and answered any questions I had. Here is my advice both from my own experience and an NYP career building seminar I went to: - Research your interviewer and their career path ahead of time and also find out anything you can about the culture and initiatives of the unit ahead of time to impress your interviewer (ex through asking around I already knew about a quality control measure on the unit that was going on, and through the unit twitter feed I knew about some other exciting things they had going on). - NYP uses "behavioral interviewing," based on the idea that past behavior can predict future performance so prepare your interview answers using the STAR format: situation/task, action, result. Remain concise and on topic! - Don't forget to write down your questions so you won't forget them! I actually printed out a special copy of my resume with my questions and a one line bullet point for a lot of my prepared answers printed on the back so in case i drew a blank i could take a peak, but in the end the process of writing it down helped me to remember anyway so I didn't even have to refer to it. -Be aware of your body language - Email a thank you note to all of your interviewers! Try to include something you talked about or learned during the interview to personalize it, ex "it really resonated w me that we discussed.." Above all, go in with a can do attitude and your best professional look and be yourself! Good luck!
