Question 1
Tell me time when you were were unsuccessful in your deliver of a project and how did you manage through it?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Nordstrom in Apr 2026
Interview
30min phone interview; the recruiter was all business slinging questions left and right, although dull and monotone. Crushed the interview, but didn't feel like anything was going to come out of it due to how rushed and lifeless the vibes were throughout the call.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Seattle, WA) in Apr 2024
Interview
The interview process itself was fun when talking with the hiring manager, peers, and stakeholders during the 4 hour “interview loop.”
The issue is that a minimally-informed recruiter during the screening interview was telling me a salary that was on the lowest end of the range posted (even though I have a lot of experience relevant to the role) and when asked specific questions related to the job had no answers beyond very basic responses. I found it odd that with so little knowledge of the role that I would be discussing salary with this person.
Anyway, I continue to the many meetings in the interview loop - the hiring manager, a couple of marketing people, a tech lead, and a product person. The product team seems to be in disarray and they’re trying to figure out how to fix it. Everyone I spoke with was pleasant and I felt I had a great rapport with each of them,
Now, weeks have gone by with no information, no follow up, no “thanks, but no thanks.” So I didn’t get the role, no big deal, it happens. But the cockroaches of the corporate world (recruiters) need to stop ghosting people that take a lot of time and effort to prepare and interview. It reflects poorly on your organization. Hopefully when Nordstrom goes private and closes all of their stores with the exception of Nordstrom Rack, these recruiters will be the first to get the axe.
