      Project Manager Interview

      Oct 24, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nutanix

      Interview

I had to go through four rounds of interviews. Most of them asking me about my project work (a lot of the same questions but different people). My third interview was with an older woman who said she "just wanted to get to know my personality." She didn't ask any project questions whatsoever and voted for me to not be hired because I "didn't talk about project work enough," They wasted my time and had me do a fourth interview even though she didn't like me and then they lied to me about when they'd get back to me. Overall, I was pretty disappointed in the way I was treated by the Nutanix company. To actively have a member of their PMO try and sabotage my hiring is indicative of some pretty shady behavior. If this is the sort of employees they keep, anyone applying for the US PMO team should be cautious.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Nutanix in May 2023

      Interview

My experience with Nutanix's product manager interview process was nothing short of an agonizing ordeal. I had to jump through countless hoops, endure never-ending rounds of interviews, and wait for an eternity only to be met with a cold rejection. It all began when I came across an exciting Nutanix opportunity. They were looking for a Product Manager, and the prospect of joining their team seemed appealing. Little did I know that I was about to embark on a four-month-long journey to nowhere. The interview process comprised a mind-boggling eight rounds. Yes, you read that right - EIGHT agonizing rounds. Each round left me feeling drained. But that wasn't the worst part. After months of interviews, they finally decided to extend an offer to me, only to put me through another month of purgatory with the excuse that they were "working on my offer." But that's not the end of the story. They then threw in some offsite drama for good measure. Apparently, they were too busy with their elaborate offsite shenanigans to actually get back to a prospective employee who had invested countless hours in the interview process. I'd never felt more insignificant. HR played it smart by never giving me anything in writing, rather communicating over WhatsApp. HR even offered the salary break-up over the phone call and asked for my confirmation. I tried to negotiate a bit on the salary, without realising what was waiting for me in the offing. The salary which was offered initially would also never be honored by Nutanix After all the waiting and excuses, they casually informed me that they were moving ahead with another candidate. Yes, you read that right - they made me jump through hoops for months, put my life on hold, and then decided that they were moving in another direction. And this happended after communicating that I have been shortlisted for the offer and they were just finalising the numbers. The sheer unprofessionalism and disrespect for my time shown by Nutanix HR left me utterly flabbergasted. The worst part is I got a survey mail for "Your feedback is requested by Nutanix on your recent Declined Offer" Nutanix's interview process is not just long and convoluted; it's a masterclass in how not to treat potential employees. If you value your time, sanity, and self-respect, I strongly recommend avoiding Nutanix interviews at all costs. Your talents and skills deserve better treatment than this endless charade.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Nutanix (San Jose, CA) in Jan 2021

      Interview

Easy! Hiring manager screen, followed by panel interview on a given data set and then team interviews with 3 different team members. Everyone was very nice and responsive. Recruiter was respectful and continuously in touch.
