I applied through college or university. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Oliver Wyman in Dec 2014
Interview
First round interviews (2 interviews - 1 fit and 1 case) and final round interviews (3 fit,1 case, 1 presentation). The cases themselves were relatively straightforward, with a strong focus on maths (probability + standard maths). I felt that there was a strong emphasis on fit particularly in the final round given that it was difficult to differentiate the best candidates from simple cases. I also had an interviewer who was socially awkward (not sure how she made it to Oliver Wyman).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What was the most shocking feedback that you received and how did you respond to it?
it was smooth but you need to work hard on your calculations skills, i failed in this part of the case because the calculator is not allowed and i had not familiarize myself with it before the interview but overall it was a good experience
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
tell me about yourself, why consulting and the case question
I applied online. I interviewed at Oliver Wyman (Milan) in May 2026
Interview
Pre-selection with one mini-case/brain teaser of 30 min. Overall, the case was testing both numerical reasoning and logics I would say. If you prepare the mini cases correctly you can pass.
Interviewers never attended on time. Rescheduled 7 times. Cases were easy relative to other firms. They dont take candidates very seriously so prepare for that. Personal questions include why OW?
