About their company, projects and common technical questions.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Optum (Bengaluru) in Oct 2025
Interview
the technical interview was a broad, 40-50 minute assessment covering multiple domains. It began with a standard introduction, followed by core OOPs concepts like inheritance. The scope then expanded to include Computer Networking (e.g., network topology), Software Engineering (comparing waterfall and agile methodologies), and cloud computing fundamentals. The practical portion involved web development, where you were asked to create a basic notepad page and discuss CSS concepts, including the interviewer's interest in Object-Oriented CSS and the possibility of inheritance in styling. This was followed by a simple C++ coding task to find the middle character(s) of a string. Although you felt you didn't answer every question perfectly, you responded confidently with the knowledge you had. The session concluded with you asking the interviewer about the company and the desired qualities in an intern.
The subsequent HR interview was brief, lasting under 15 minutes, and focused on standard questions such as your motivation for joining Optum, what sets you apart from other candidates, and your future plans. Notably, this round was swift and resulted in all candidates being selected.
