My interview process with Optum itself was fairly standard and smooth. The questions were reasonable, and the overall interaction with the interviewers was fine.
However, the major issue I faced was with the HR process. There were two candidates from my college with the same name. After the interviews, I received a result email that included my name and a detail that clearly identified me. Naturally, I assumed I had been selected.
Two days later, I received a call from the SPOC saying that the HR had made a mistake and that the selection was actually for the other candidate with the same name. They apologized, but this was quite disappointing and unprofessional.
Overall, while the interview itself was decent, the HR miscommunication left a very negative impression. Such errors can seriously affect candidates’ morale and trust in the hiring process.
