      Front End Engineer Interview

      Nov 9, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Redwood City, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Oracle (Redwood City, CA) in Jan 2020

      Interview

I had a great conversation with the recruiter that explained the process of interview, information about the position and etc. Then I had a conversation with the technical manager. Got rejected without reasonable explanation. After I started telling about myself, TM interrupted me with that he has a meeting right now and offer to call back in an hour. I'm not sure but that moment was definitely unpleasant.

      Front End Engineer Interview

      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Seattle, WA
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Oracle (Seattle, WA) in Feb 2024

      Interview

Had a quick 30-minute video chat with a front-end engineer and the hiring manager. We mostly walked through my resume, recent projects, tech stack, and why I’m interested in Oracle. A few light JavaScript/React questions, some discussion about async/promises and UI performance, plus one scenario about debugging a slow page. No live coding, more conversational and focused on how I approach problems and communicate with teammates.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How does the JavaScript event loop schedule microtasks vs macrotasks, and why does a Promise callback run before setTimeout(..., 0)? Also, how would you keep a React UI responsive during a long API request?

      Interview

The hiring manager contacted me via Linkedin, we had an informal discussion about the role and team. I was interested in the role, so decided to move further. The next step was a phone interview (which had basic data structure question) and then a final onsite
