Great - challenging and you had to share a presentation. There were about 4 to 5 steps and it was appropriate for what the role entailed. After everything was presented, you would meet with a panel.
The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Origin in Jul 2022
Interview
- Initial call with the HR to discuss whether it's a match - First interview: with the Lead Product Designer, discuss experience and present a case study from my portfolio (at-home design test is given if they want you to proceed) - Second interview: the results of the at-home design task is presented as a case study to the Product team (4 people were involved: Lead Product Manager, another Product Manager, Lead Product Designer and CTO). You're encouraged not to spend too much time on the design task and they don't expect a polished outcome. They judge you based on what you have completed or the work in progress you showcase and the amount of time you spent on what you have presented. (IMO the telltale round whether you'll get the job or not) - Final interview: a chat with the CEO
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
- If you look at your skillset, what would you say is your superpower? And what would you say you’re not very good at? - What motivates you? - Have you experienced any conflict with a peer? If so, how did you handle that? - Have you experienced where your Lead and yourself don’t agree on a design/direction? If so, how was it resolved? - If you were to change anything in that project, what would you have done differently and why?
3-stage interview, with the final stage in person. Went to their office and chatted with 2 senior product managers and their CTO. It was a tough 2-hour interview with difficult questions about UX, maths/estimation, and about how I work.
