One of the worst "interview" experiences I've had. First of all, I'm not even looking for a job, the hiring manager actually reached out to me directly, saying they were excited to speak with me and gave the usual tech startup spiel about how great their benefits and work environment is. After the first phone call I was passed to another phone call. This was one of the most un-personable, and snobby phone calls I ever had. The person just got straight down to business firing questions that 1) didn't evaluate my skills at all, and 2) were condescending. Not only that, when I asked the person questions, they gave poor answers that were surface level answers of why Pinterest was a great place to work. At the end of the call the person asked why I was interested in working at Pinterest. I said that I wasn't looking for a job and was just interested in hearing more since the first person reached out. I'm assuming my answer wasn't satisfactory. Right after the call, I sent a thank you email to both speakers who I spoke with. Then 1 week passes by and I hear nothing. I send another follow up email. No word. Another week, no word. I send another follow up email consistently. After 5 weeks, of following up, I get an email from the first person saying that they hired someone else further along in the interview process. Your recruiting process is horrible. No communication, and unprofessional. And lastly, don't expect people to grovel to work at Pintereset when you were the first ones to waste their time.
