      Research Associate, Company Taxonomy Interview

      Nov 16, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Seattle, WA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PitchBook (Seattle, WA) in Oct 2017

      Interview

Pleasant and easy phone interview then a hour in person interview with pretty thorough questions about your resume then a take home project then a 45min shadow and one more 45min interview. During this whole process you are made to believe you are their favorite candidate. Everyone was super nice and encouraging and I felt great about the whole processes. Come week four of the interview cycle I was waiting for a final email to tell me if I will get an offer or not and after a month of stringing me along they decided to not even fill the position, which I feel is a decision they should've made much earlier in the process to save me the 20 odd hours and emotional energy I spent on the take home project and coming into the office for interviews.

      Question 1

I can't remember any specific question, they just asked very detailed questions about my resume.

Hello, this is Peter Escher, Director of Research at PitchBook. I appreciate you taking the time to provide us with feedback on your experience; truly, we want the candidate experience to be awesome, so thank you for sharing your perspective. Regarding this particular role: PitchBook is a growing company and we are always evaluating our hiring needs. This was an instance where we made a call to go in a different direction then our initial plan. That said, we continue to have many open positions. Feel free to check out our job board or email me, I imagine we probably met during your interview process. In any case, best regards - PKE
