      Skills Project Coordinator Interview

      May 25, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Pluralsight

      Interview

It was pretty impersonal. Might've been my just my experience in the process but they are prioritizing experience over anything so don't bother if you don't have everything they're asking for. They're not willing to develope new, slightly green talent.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Pluralsight in May 2022

      Interview

The interview process was extremely long, with little communication from either the recruiter or hiring manager. I applied for a position on 04/22/2022. My application was denied, but then I was contacted by a recruiter, Rosemary, who told me that was by mistake (04/25). We then scheduled an interview for on 04/29/22 at 8:00 AM and she no-showed. She later contacted me and said she had internet issues. We rescheduled for the next day, 04/30/22, at 4:00 PM. She again no-showed me. I sent an email and she called me at 4:20 PM and stated she was having internet issues. We then completed the first-round interview via phone, and she invited me to the next step of the interview process, which is to take a personality assessment and an aptitude test (the CCAT). These two tests took about 2 hours of preparation (based on best practices when reviewing how to prepare for the assessments), and then about 45 minutes total to take them. Though it was not required, I purchased $30 study materials for the CCAT from their website. The average score is around 24.2, and I scored 35. This was 05/04/22. I was invited to the next interview with the hiring manager which was scheduled for 05/17/2022. It lasted the hour it was scheduled for. The hiring manager was helpful and energetic. She asked for patience as she worked through the many applicants. Two weeks later, I was contacted and asked to schedule a group interview with a presentation on how I would help the company acquire authors for new projects and on communication skills. This was scheduled for 06/02/2022. This lasted about 1.5 hours with six different people from Pluralsight. It went very well, everyone was very friendly, answered my questions, and I did the best I could to answer theirs to showcase my skills. I was told the next step was a final meeting with the hiring manager and to expect a call or email when she got back from a conference on Monday, June 13th. On Wednesday, June 15th, I sent an email asking for an update and to remind them that I was interested in the position and eager to learn of the next steps. I sent one more e-mail Monday. June 30th. No one replied to either of those emails. On Tuesday, July 5th, I received an email from a recruiter that they chose another candidate for the position. I am not frustrated at that - if another candidate was a better fit, that is what I would have done, too. I was frustrated by the total lack of organization and lack of communication I received from this company. It was very disorganized and chaotic, especially the beginning, and left me feeling frustrated. Overall, this process took 73 days from application to denial, two no-shows for the interviews by their recruiter, a group presentation, and then literally no follow-up from either the recruiter or hiring manager. I would have appreciated more communication, and a bit more respect for my time and effort put into this process.
