      Assistant Brand Manager Intern Interview

      Mar 27, 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Lagos
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Procter & Gamble (Lagos) in Sep 2013

      Interview

I took the Global Reasoning Test and the success drivers test. There is a sample test for the Global test and it mimics the real thing. It tests basic knowledge of ratios, proportions, percentages as can be found in the GMAT and there is a part on verbal reasoning. The key is to study the sample test very well, and know that something cannot be true or false if it is not supported or rejected respectively with evidence from the passage. The success drivers test comprises about 60 + questions that are competency based. Show sincerity in your answers. Do not rush it, as you can always log out and continue. Even though I was successful, I was not invited for an interview. Rather, i took the proactive approach of calling the HR contact that visited my school, telling her that I passed the tests, and that I wanted an interview, and then she called me the next day. The interviews generally consist of three rounds with 1 interview in the 1st round, 2-3 in the 2nd round and 1 or 2 in the final round. They all folow the same format, and you basically do the same thing in all your interviews. This is because they are behavioral interviews. The interviewers ask you questions about your past experience to predict your future performance. They ask questions such as: 1. Tell me a time when you taught someone something. 2. Tell me a time that you led a team. 3. Are you a good listener? Give me an example of a time when you showed good listening. (I got this in my last interview ) 4. Tell me a time that you contributed an idea to a team project 5. Tell me a time that you developed an idea from the scratch The key is to be confident in your response and to follow a particular format known as CAR: C- Context A-Action R-Result Mention the background in detail so that the interviewer understands it, but also briefly so that it doesnt take time (1 min. Max). Then explain YOUR OWN contribution to the situation in much detail. Remember that the interview is about YOU and ONLY YOU, and so you must mention what YOU did (you should say "I did", "I said", etc and not WE). After this, explain the effect of your action to the success of the event. Try to quantify the results if possible. For example, you can say that i taught 5 people this course, and then 3 of them scored A's and the other two had B, even though these people were normally D and C candidates. You can say, after i changed the logistics of the team, we doubled the attendance at the program. You must be prepared to answer in detail any questions regarding your resume. Also, you should be able to answer the question: Tell me about yourself. You would talk about your personality, family(like how many you are in your family, etc) your love of sports, your desire to contribute to humanity in your own way, etc. Finally, you should have questions for your interviewer about the company. You may ask about his experiences in the company so far and you may ask about the opportunities for career development at the company. Try not to ask about salaries. You may be asked the question: Why P&G? You should be able to explain why you want to work here. Reasons may include: your interest in personal development, your desire to work with very smart people, your interest in working with interesting brands like Always, Ariel etc. Try and put up a smile. P&G is a really great place, and even if you eventually appear nervous, as long as you have provided interesting answers to the questions asked, the interviewers would mostly not mind. Think deeply of your life experiences so that you can deliver on interview day and try to have more than one experience for every question. If you do not have this, there is no problem. Just make sure that you deliver in the format mentioned above and also try not to lie about your experiences. You may get away with it in some interviews, but other interviewers can see through lies by further probing. Do not hesitate to pick up a pen and demonstrate on the board so that your interviewer can visualize your story and show that you are really excited to be there. The interviewers normally have sheets of printed paper in front of them, where they record your story. The paper has many questions on it, and there are three boxes for every question. The boxes are for the CAR that was discussed above. Some interviewers may fill in the boxes as you speak, while others, may just listen and fill later. Do not let any of these actions make you fret. Also maintain eye contact, firm handshake, etc. Do not be afraid to ask for some time to think about your response. The first interview is a screening/fit interview and is only about 30-40 minutes long. Subsequent interviews are about 1hour each, with some interesting ones stretching to 2 hours. You can find many other questions on the P&G career website, and you can browse the web for more questions. I wish you all the best.

      Intern Assistant Brand Manager Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Procter & Gamble (Geneva) in Apr 2020

      Interview
