      Software Engineer Trainee Interview

      Aug 1, 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Noida
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Progressive Infotech (Noida)

      Interview

Selected through AMCAT: First there was an automata test which consisted of two programming questions. One was to display a pattern and the other was an array based question. Everyone had a different set. Partially solved only the array question and still progressed for the next round. The next round was the HR and Technical interview scheduled the next day. There were around 150 candidates (could be more) and it was a long day. The HR interview was like any other HR interview. Also, to be edible to appear for the appear for the technical interview one had to clear the HR interview. In my technical interview was asked questions on web development and about projects. Generic questions like "Where do you see yourself in 5 years", "Your field of interest? Why?" and a few questions related to my hobbies. After clearing the technical interview. The shortlisted candidates were called to the Head Office for the final round which consisted of a GD and a final Tech/HR interview. Out of the 150 candidates only 30 were selected for the final round. The GD round was just to assess the critical thinking and communication skills and was not an elimination round. 3 groups of 10 candidates was made and the GD consisted of 3 rounds. After this was the final Technical interview. The final tech interview, like the previous one, had 3 separate panels. Out of the three, two panelists grilled there candidates on some serious coding problems. Luckily I was sent to the relatively easier interviewer, where I was asked everything that was on my CV and a few problem on Cloud and IOT (because I mentioned that I had interests in those domains). Candidates who had supposedly cleared this round were sent to the HR where they were told the salary structure and the general working rules of the company. The company had a service bond of 2 years amounting to 1 lac INR. I had converted my interview and was asked to join immediately. I, however, had requested to be granted some time due to relocation problems and was granted so, and they said they'll call me. I mailed the HR 10 days hence to follow up on my joining date and was told that my position had been put on hold indefinitely. A few days later the HR called me and offered me another role of Cloud support with half the salary package that they were previously offering. I turned down the offer, and have moved on since then without any regrets.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

First technical round: Questions on jQuery, string problem to print a given string without its vowels, difference between POST and GET request. Second technical round: Questions related to my projects (android app), Sorting question (easy), and few others which I don' remember.
