Applied through the online system - took a couple of weeks (and my friends who work their encouraging HR to look at my application) before I received communications from the hiring manager. Spoke on the phone with her for about 20 minutes, discussing the basics of the position and my qualifications. About 2 weeks after that, I had a phone call with the hiring manager to discuss the position in more detail. I did well on that so I was excited that I got to go to the Castle for a one-on-one interview with the Hiring Manager's boss. That went extremely well, but then I didn't hear anything for about 2 1/2 weeks. Suddenly, I was called for another interview at the Castle, and this time I was given a paper application to fill out and bring with me. I met with the recruiter, the other members of the team with which I would be working, and representatives of the Social Media team. All in all I was there for about 3 hours.
The only downside was that I was told, after all was said and done, that it would be about 3 weeks until a decision was made. 3 weeks came and went with no word, so I initiated a follow up with the recruiter. Turns out that while I was a lead candidate, they opted for an internal candidate who's position was about to be eliminated. Disheartening, to an extent, but also made me more determined to get in there as it shows they take care of their employees.
