I applied for a Lead Developer positions at Regions Bank in Atlanta, GA. The interview was fairly straight forward with an initial phone screen where I was asked about my background/resume and how it aligns to the job i applied for. Later on, I was invited onsite for a 3 hour interview (half hour each with 6 team members). It was a very smooth process with each person asking a mix of technical and personality questions.
In the next round, I had to interview with my manager's boss who was new to the firm, where the questions were more strategic (team goals..where they are headed and how i can contribute etc.).
The whole process was straight forward and transparent. The team wanted to give me an offer, but due to mis-communication between the recruiter and the team about my immigration status, I was told that the team is not willing to go ahead since they could not sponsor visa.
All this after 6 weeks of spending time interviewing with various team members. I just wish the recruiter had asked me for more clarification regarding visa etc. and would have saved 6 weeks of time!
