I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Riot Games (Los Angeles, CA) in Nov 2021
Interview
Well structured questions and processes, left me with a better understanding of how game designer interviews should be held! Questions covered conceptual aspects, specific aspects and team dynamic and inter-department aspects of game design and development.

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Riot Games (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2016
Interview
After filling out the online forms, I was quickly given a design test. This was a very interesting test that was 9 questions and I had a week to respond. Afterwards there were 5 phone interviews with a single person each. After that I did the in person interview which was 9 hours long, with 1 hour interviews back to back to back. Finally there were two more phone screens before I received an offer.
Despite how long and grueling this sounds, it was actually to my benefit. Riot saw potential as a culture fit, and did a lot of screening to find a good spot on the team to join in. Every interviewer was intelligent and asked very good design questions.
