      Application

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Sainsbury’s (London, England) in Dec 2015

      Interview

Applied online, had to do some situation test, very simple ie best choice of action and worst action you'd do, given a scenario. Next day recieved a text saying to ring HR for phone interview, asked me why work here, why are you suitable, what's expected roles, give me a time you lead, ect, during phone call she asked am I available to attend an interview at this date I said yes, she then said I passed. Interview wasn't held in store but in head office, there was 6 of us all for the same role, 4 of them already works in sainsburys, so I thought I lost already. Split in teams of 3. We were given a task had 10 mins to work out solution individually then 20 mins for group discussion with 3 assessor all writing what you say. (Here's were I totally flopped in their eyes, was asked by one assessor would I prioritise reducing que length as a customer complained he waited 20mins or fixing a complaint about bread being mouldy/stale. I said fix the mouldy bread, he went on to say so you'd put customer service below fixing mouldy bread, didn't want to say yes, so said I'd rather wait 20mins in a que with fresh bread than que 20 mins with mouldy bread as customer would come back complaining, so he said customer service last and wrote on his paper. I was just thinking buying mouldy bread destroys brand reputation more than a long que, as a customer wouldn't step foot inside the store if bread was mouldy. But didn't want to argue) after group discussion was bought together again then had individual interview.(I think it was with store manager but couldn't tell as he said his name very fast) Asked tell me about yourself, what roles will you do, why work here than competitors, how would you inspire others, how would you motivate others, what challenges would you have, in my mind I failed the previous exercise so was a bit annoyed and couldn't think properly, that's why I asked him could you repeat the questions, and give me a minute to think, it went horribly wrong as the guy was using his phone while I was speaking, with continuing buzzing of notifications, i even looked around the room, pretending to find out were the buzzing is from, to notify him about it and he goes and says sorry it's my phone, and put the pen down.which I thought as extremely rude regardless how it's going. It lasted about 5 mins. Conclusion, don't expect a congratulations anytime soon. If unsurprisingly i do, i might reject it. I do go to the store quite frequently, so will be quite embarrassed to see another member who was there with me. If the interviewee was the store manager, defo not going back there again.

      Store Lead Interview

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sainsbury’s (London, England) in Aug 2015

      Interview

First step is online application. Once you successful in your online application you will received a telephone interview. Second step is telephone interview. Telephone interview is super easy as it is technically asking about you. Final step is one to one or group exercise or both. That part could be a little bit tricky. you can get a good interviewer or self-righteous interviewer or bad mood interviewer. Good tip for one to one interview is cross your finger to get a good interviewer. For group exercise, is basically to look at your leadership skill. But remember every candidates in the room are also in the same room with you to show their leadership skills. So good tip, don't take a chance to get your turn to speak out because you will never get it unless you jump into them try to lead them with your best. This 20 mins is your only chance to show what you can do. Don't lose a chance.
