      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce in Dec 2021

      Interview

There's no coding interview for the team based in Palo Alto. The interviews are highly focused on digging into my past research experience and my future research plans. The interviewers and hiring managers are very friendly and can really spend time knowing about me, rather than screening applicants with code interviews, which, sadly, is the common practice in FAANG.

1st round: Coding challenge(2 problems, total 60mins) 2nd round: Technical interview with a research scientist 3rd round is an interview with a hiring manager or team manager, but I cannot pass the 2nd round. Thus, I am not sure about 3rd round.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. Coding challenge consists of 2 problems which are easy and medium level of leetcode. 2. I did an interview with a reinforcement learning team. They just ask for a simple reinforcement concept. Then, I share my research interest and discuss the direction of their projects.
