      Business Development Representative (BDR) Interview

      Mar 18, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Salesforce in Mar 2022

      Interview

Absolutely horrible. I truly was not expecting this from Salesforce employees and I am shocked. I was so excited about interviewing at Salesforce and it quickly turned into a huge disappointment. It ruined my positive opinion and respect for the company as a whole. After the initial phone screen, the recruiter was nonresponsive, impossible to get a hold of or replied to messages/sent materials late after being reminded. I could see he reads my messages and blatantly ignores me. I did not get the feeling of honesty and transparency from him at all, I felt like I was being strung along. I was left to sit there, wait and wonder if I should've even reached out. It felt awful especially when he is supposed to be there to guide and help you. The interview, which was supposed to take an hour was less than 30 minutes of interviewing. Unfortunately, it felt like before the interview even began, they already knew they weren't going to proceed with me as a candidate. Why waste people’s time? The Google Meet was with two managers from the sales teams, the recruiter was also supposed to be there but he couldn't make it. The managers had me mistaken with someone else at one point as what was asked was not related to my work experience. They were either not prepared or completely confused. I believe as an interviewer, at the very least you should read over the resume of the individual you are interviewing and get to know that person. Also, the same question was asked multiple times in different ways - how do you get your leads? I did not know how else to reply and it was getting frustrating as I felt I gave clear and descriptive answers with examples that pertained to my work experience. It's not rocket science. I was so disappointed in this experience that I couldn't even bring myself to actually write personalized Thank You notes. I usually write and send them immediately after the interview. I am not ashamed to say that I eventually sent copied and pasted ones from the internet with their names plugged in, just to put a checkmark for being respectful. The recruiter ended up texting me "no" and that was it. Apparently, I was not even worth a five minute phone call to explain what actually happened, even after asking twice. It's completely inhumane and disrespectful to treat candidates this way. Salesforce is supposed to be a "people company." There is a lot of preparation and time spent getting ready for the interview which is nerve-wracking and stressful. You study the company, learn about the programs, take Trailhead quizzes, etc. The process was disorganized and they were not professional nor courteous. These individuals work in sales and HR where you have to be personable and polite. I honestly do not know how they landed their jobs. Needless to say, this was my worst experience ever interviewing and I am sorry I went through it.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Salesforce (Dublin, Dublin) in Feb 2026

      Interview
