One of the most ridiculous hiring processes I have ever had to date. First off they use what seems like a third party company or outside department to do all the prescreening. This department is not very proactive in making sure they organized or detailed. Secondly, you have the staff at the store who is also unorganized and clearly doesn’t communicate properly.
I applied for a position and was sent a link by email from their other department to schedule a phone interview, remember this because it’s important, easy enough. Got that scheduled, took screenshots of the dates and times so I was ready.
The day comes around and by the end of the time window I have not received any call, so I go back to the email, mind you it says phone interview 3 times. I click the link log in and go to the interview post. On one section of it I do notice it says “we look forward to meeting you”, I think to myself that it’s awfully odd phrasing for a phone interview. Either way, this morning I called the third party/outside department and this is how it all went into a tailspin.
I speak to a very nice woman who sounds like her day has already been far too long, I proceeded to tell her my troubles of trying to navigate their hiring system. She can see that an interview was set but obviously not what for, she can see an email was sent but not what it said. 15 minutes later I think she understands. The email said one thing but the link was for the wrong type of interview. So I scheduled an in person interview and then totally missed it. She explains this is fine and it does happen so she gives me the managers name and tells me it’s up to me now. Okay, I’m ready.
So I call the store, manager isn’t in. Well maybe I can leave a message, instantly put on hold. About 3 minutes go by and another woman who seems like she’s had a long day also comes on rambling about how she can’t find information on the Keurig I want. I explain to this woman also who I’m looking for and that I just want to leave a message. She decided to transfer me to a manager. Finally, some results.
Not so fast, I speak to a manager who says he can just send out the link again (leading me to believe this whole thing wasn’t the first woman’s fault at all) and we can just schedule another one. He logs into my account and proceeded to tell me how the job I had an interview for was never supposed to be posted in the first place, it’s an internal job only. Explains I can come in for an interview and depending on how it goes they can place me in an open spot. I explain I’m more skilled towards a warehouse setting and my credentials are all for heavy equipment but as long as it’s full time I’m not picky. He then lets me know he doesn’t have anything full time.
Are you kidding me? Four days and an hour on the phone to be told that people who are literally paid to hire people can not even do that? If you have gotten this far I encourage you to seek other employment, I feel like this is very tell about how a company, specifically this location, runs itself on a day to day basis.
