I worked at Sam's Club part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    -Comprehensive training program.
-Fluid and swift transition between training and work.
    -Very cooperative workspace.
    -Emphasis on upward mobility.
    -Well-communicated benefits for associates.

    Cons

-Depends on who is scheduled to work, but chain of command can limit workplace capability.
-Workplace tasks can change on a dime depending on management.
-As seniority changes from day to day among intermediary management, it is not always clear who to go to for assistance.

    Advice to Management

Focus on programming that more clearly establishes chain and succession of responsibility, and emphasize not just the existence of, but the routes for upward mobility within the company.

I have been working at Sam's Club full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Skys the limit for promotions. Easy laid out paths to. Follow up the ladder. Easy trasnfer from club to club or even over to Wal-Mart or from Wal-Mart

    Cons

Mgmt sometimes implements stupid metrics to evaluate you on. Cahier should be judged on how much they sell not on how many prompts are captured.

    Advice to Management

Look at whole picture not pieces. Regional teams should not announce when they plan to come just show up that way they get a better picture of what is actually going on.

I worked at Sam's Club full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Honestly not many, they are always cutting staff to compete with Costco who does the same thing with a third of the employees. You are expected to pick up the slack.

    Cons

Same as pros, they honestly work you to death, then expect you to be happy about it. It's okay once you start, but there aren't many days you love.

    Pros

The Management team are work friendly as so are professional the Sam's Club I work at was efficient.

    Cons

There can be rude attitudes toward Cashier's with other Cashier's at times I found that as describing because we all had fair training.

    Advice to Management

Management team should ALWAYS remain Profesional keep it work ethic as possible, don't bring personal matter in open area of the work place. Always implement goals for the next level in your position.
