I applied online. I interviewed at Scopic Software in Mar 2022
Interview
1.) Screening
2.) Online Assessment Task
3.) Technical Interview
4.) Client Interview
5.) Final Interview
6.) Offer and Onboarding
I received feedback on my application 1 - 2 days after I had sent it in and received a screening interview invitation for 3 days later. The interview was by the book - asking about all and every aspect of the job requirements. The interview was 1 hour and 41 minutes long. At one point, I was asked if I can work overlap hours for a specific timezone, which I found odd, since they advertised to have their employees be flexible and select their own schedule and hours. Overlap hours does not make it flexible. At the end, I also received a Hiring Procedure and Scopic Financial Policies document. I do believe I passed the screening test, since I was provided with the online assessment task.
The challenge assessment was a python coding assignment, which was to create geometric shapes with a class factory. You needed to create classes for circle, square and rectangle and also complete the main module for shape factory. To test, you were provided with scripts for unittest asserts that would calculate area, perimeter and is instance of. This all was a take-home assignment, which you then had to upload using git. Unfortunately and although my testing came out successful on my end, I was not given a next interview stage. Since I spent a considerable amount of time on the task, I requested more feedback - so that I can at least have a score, results or outcome of the assessment task, other than the standard, "Unfortunately, we are not able to offer you the Remote Python Developer position at this time", message.

Question 1
Please give me a brief overview of your experience in web development?
Thank you for taking the time to share your interview experience with Scopic! We're sorry to hear that our feedback was not satisfactory. Unfortunately, we get a lot of applicants and can not provide detailed feedback on why we chose to go with another candidate. The decision-making process in the hiring process involves a few departments and is influenced by various factors such as job match, coding test results, interviews with the technical team and management, etc. We are trying our best to take into consideration all of these aspects to make a fair decision and hire the candidate(s) with the highest match rate for the position. We wish you good luck with your future endeavors!
